So I have decided to step it up with the coupons & have really saved some major "change" at Publix. With http://www.southernsavers.com/ as my guide, I made my 2nd run today. You can look at the picture of what all I got. Here is the breakdown & how I did it:
- 12 double rolls of Quilted Northern, on sale for $5.99, minus $2 Rite Aid coupon, minus $1 manf. coupon. (Regular $8.49, saved $5.50)
- Electrasol Dish Detergent on sale for $$3.99, minus $1 coupon. (Regular $4.39, saved $1.40)
- Doritos (2) BOGO! (Regular $3.99/ea, saved $3.98)
- Smart Taste pastas (2) Regular $1.50/ea minus $1 off 2. (Total $2 for 2, saved $1)
- Publix Premium Bread- FREE with purchase of Hormel lunch meat (saved $1.69)
- Hunt's Spaghetti Sauce (2) Regular $1.39/ea. (saved $.78 total)
- All 32 load Detergent, on sale for $2.99 & $1 off coupon. (Regular $5.39, saved $3.40)
- Quaker Granola Bars (2) regular $2.99/ea plus $1 off 2. (Regular $5.98, saved 3.98)
- 5lb White Potatoes regular $3.49 on sale for $1.99. (saved $1.50)
- 4 pack GreenWise Toilet Paper- PENNY ITEM! (saved $2.38)
- Ball Park Franks regular $3.99, on sale for $2.50 plus $1 coupon (saved $2.49)
- Maybelline Pulsing Mascara regular $11.99, stacked $3 manf coupon with $3 store coupon (saved $6!)
- Crisco EVOO regular $6.49, on sale for $3.25 (saved $3.24)
- Fresh Corn (not pictured) regular $4.80 for 8, on sale for $2 for 8 (saved $2.80)
- 3.25lbs ground chuck (not pictured) regular $10.32, on sale for $6.65 (saved $3.67)
That's a total of $70.80. How much did I pay? $26.99! That's a savings of $43.81, or 62%!
Now there are a few things I could have waited & probably gotten better prices on, or waited on a coupon, but I needed them, so I went for it. The trick is that you gotta eat what's on sale but if I can feed a family of 5 for under $30 a week, I'll do it!
